Christmas Morning 2010

We all got up quite early on Christmas Day to make coffee (lots and lots of yummy coffee was drunk on Christmas!) and greet Matt home from work (he got home at about 7:30 in the morning). Jackson was especially happy to see him as they spent some play time on the floor together when he got there.

Then Jackson spent some time "cheesing" and laughing with Grandma on the couch. The rest of us were busy staring out the window at the snow that started falling around 8am. It was thick and beautiful. By the end of the day, we would have 9 inches! That's the most I've ever seen in the South and my first white Christmas!

We opened some of our presents from each other (and some very cool "Canada-themed" presents from Jackson's Chachu & Chachi) and then had a fun "Skype" chat with the Malhotras in Toronto...We just love Skype! It's so great to not only be able to talk to each other, but see each other, too! Especially on a special day like Christmas.

We had LOTS of stockings on Wendy & Matt's mantel. I don't think any more would have fit! But it was so great to have TEN stockings up (the dogs get one, too, of course!). We'd found a cute stocking for Jackson that had trains on it. And from the same place, we got an awesome new stocking for Matt that had a fire engine on it.

After a busy morning, Jackson took a nap while we started making brunch. Despite the snow, the Ballances made it in from Raleigh by 10:30am and we all enjoyed another Arthur tradition: monkey bread and quiche. YUMMY!!
