Where is Minnie the Elf?!

This year, we started a NEW tradition. Grandma A bought Jackson the awesome "Elf on the Shelf" book and doll. The book is about an elf who watches over you during the day to make sure you're being "good" and then flies back to Santa every night to report back.

The first thing you do when you receive your elf is to name it. Even though Jackson got a boy elf, he insisted on naming it "Minnie." :-)

Part of the fun of the Elf on the Shelf is teaching that you can still be a kid...and be mischievous and have fun...but just not to be too "bad". The elf LOVES to be mischievous!

Every morning, Jackson woke up and had to find his elf. He was SO excited each morning! He would sit up in bed and say "FIND ELF!!"

Over the month of December, Minnie had all kinds of fun in our house. He rolled down the stairs in a roll of toilet paper...

He drove Jackson's fire truck into the tree...

He dangled from the kitchen chandelier...

He constructed a BIG tower of legos and climbed all the way to the top...

And our last morning with Minnie (Christmas Eve morning), we found him trying out our chimney (getting it ready for Santa, we presume). But he wasn't empty handed! He'd brought a letter from Santa! Very exciting stuff!!

Minnie promised to be back right after Thanksgiving next year, and we can't wait to see what he'll be up to!
