Girls weekend away!

I had an awesome weekend away with Kathy at Amicalola Lodge in the North Georgia mountain. We were able to head up early Friday afternoon thanks to Anil. He volunteered to watch Tyler and Ella until Jason could get off work. So sweet!

It was AWFUL weather most of the weekend (lots of rain), but it didn't bother us because we'd brought tons of junk food and games to play. Over the weekend, we played card games, Life, Yahtzee, Checkers, and much more! And I won't even mention all the junk food we ate. :-)

Saturday, we were lucky that the rain broke in early afternoon. We spent most of the day in Dahlonega, which is a small town 20 minutes from the lodge. It has the cutest little shops (of course, we HAD to do a little shopping) and a fantastic fudge shop. YUMMY!

Saturday night was back to the lodge for more games & girly silliness. Kathy was so excited to sleep in for two days in a row. I enjoyed it, too, but not like her, who is used to being woken up by Tyler at around 7am each morning.
Sunday, we stopped at the Outlet mall for about an hour before heading home. It was a fantastic time!

Anil enjoyed a VERY lazy Sunday, filled with TV...golf, basketball and episodes of Entourage. And of course, a burger from Five Guys...his favorite! Sunday, he helped a bunch of the men in the neighborhood plant a ton of trees in some of the common areas. It looks great!
