Anil and I were so grateful that Mom/Dad agreed to stay a few extra days after Jackson's birthday so that we could get away for a couple of nights. We even took our beloved Diva, in celebration of her making it through a WHOLE YEAR with Jackson. :-)

It was a short 1.5 hour drive up to the mountains to our cabin. We had a gorgeous log cabin that Diva enjoyed exploring every square inch of...

Anil had planned a very special surprise for our first night there...our own personal chef! He brings everything with him (you pre-order your menu online), cooks, serves, and then cleans up. Now, if I could just get that for EVERY night of my life! :-) Here's a picture of Chef Douglas at work.
All of our food was fantastic. I started with a crab cake; Anil had pot stickers; and then we moved on to filet mignon and herbed mashed potatoes; dessert was a chocolate/peanut butter/banana tart for me and chocolate "lava" cake for Anil. YUMMY!

There was a heavenly hammock (or something like it) on the back porch. Diva and I spent a LOT of time there...me reading, Diva sleeping, and well, let's be honest...ME sleeping. So awesome!

Diva was so relaxed she even laid out on her back!
On our 2nd day, we had a leisurely lunch on the back porch, followed by hours of game-playing. Everything from air hockey to board games like Connect Four and Sorry. It's been so long since we just sat and played games together!
Before we knew it, our time was up and it was time to head back to Atlanta. Thanks again to Grandma/Grandpa for taking such good care of our little man!!
