Last weekend, we drove to Asheville to spend a few days with Jackson's Aunt Wendy and Uncle Matt. Diva LOVES their apartment, mainly because of their porch that overlooks the parking lot (which means lots of people watching). Sadly, we got to Asheville very late on Thursday night, so we went straight to bed. But first thing Friday morning, Diva was on "her" porch!
Friday was a VERY busy day for us! Matt and Anil went golfing in the morning while Wendy & I took Jackson to the salon for my hair cut/color. He had such a fun time sitting on the porch of the house (the salon is in an old house) with Wendy, waiving at all the cars that passed by on the street. That little arm must have been tired! Afterward, we took him by Belk (Wendy's store) to see all the girls she works with...they're always so sweet & love to love on him.
After all that activity, it was time for a nap because we had a VERY busy afternoon/evening ahead of us. One of Wendy's photographer friends, Ian, offered to take photos of our family pro bono. So sweet!! We all met at the Botanical Gardens in the late afternoon. The weather was gorgeous and so was the setting. Here's Aunt Wendy & Uncle Matt posing with Jackson before the photo shoot...
Jackson had QUITE the "entourage" at our photo shoot. We were joking around that he had a makeup artist (Wendy), photographer (Ian), "handler" (Matt, who carried him around a lot) and even some extra help in Ian's wife, Nicole.
Ian was so great, and he even walked through water to get some of the shots!
After all that activity, it was time for a nap because we had a VERY busy afternoon/evening ahead of us. One of Wendy's photographer friends, Ian, offered to take photos of our family pro bono. After we finished our photo session, we took everyone out to dinner at Tupelo Honey (yummy!). It was great to spend more time with Ian and Nicole, who have become very good friends with Wendy & Matt. Jackson contemplated ordering off the menu, but then he decided to go with the bread & cheese we'd brought with us. :-)
On Saturday, Jackson had LOTS of fun goofing around with his Uncle Matt. There's just something about Uncle Matt...he can walk in a room and Jackson starts laughing!
Wendy had a wedding in Lake Lure on Saturday (part of Dirty Dancing was filmed there!), so she had to leave us for a few hours. After she was done, we actually drove there ourselves to see the small town. It's quite a windy road/drive to get there, but it sure was pretty! We walked around the town awhile, had a bit to eat, then headed back to Asheville.
While the men went to pick up a pizza for dinner, Jackson had fun playing in a big empty box.

After dinner, it was time for more fun with Uncle Matt and Daddy. They were so funny, trying to "reason" with him as to why he needed to take this walking thing seriously. Ha!
We had such a fun time and can't wait until our next trip!
