Christmas Afternoon with the Stephens Family

After our busy morning at home, there was still more to do!

We packed up the car and headed to Grandma's house where the family gathered for a late lunch and present opening. Mostly, it was just presents for the kids and Great-Grandma...too many people to buy for everyone! :-)

As always, Jackson LOVED hanging out with his Uncle Lamar, or "D-YaYa" as he calls him. He even tried to copy his sitting stance on a chair. So cute!

And he insisted on trying on Great Grandma's necklace. As expected, he broke it - (Never give a necklace to a 2 year old!) - but Grandma thinks she can fix it.

Jackson got some AWESOME new toys, including a locking puzzle from YaYa (Aunt Charlotte) and D-YaYa. Zoe and Stephen helped him figure out all the locks and we're sure he'll have mastered it before we know it!

You know you can always count on cousin Mel-Mel for a fantastic Disney-themed present! And this year did not disappoint! She sent him a Mr. Potato Head with TONS of Disney-themed parts. He's obsessed!

He likes to pretend the Mickey glasses were really meant for him...

And what could possibly be cuter than this fireman's raincoat from cousins Suzanne, Eric, Stephen and Zoe?!

He was SO excited about it that everyone got hugs!

Cousin Carson, Caroline and Jason arrived a little later (Carson had been napping), and we were so excited to see them! Great Grandma gave the boys flashlights...who knew that flashlights could be so entertaining?!

They'd also brought Jackson some presents, including a basketball net and ball!! It raises and lowers, so it's sure to provide fun and exercise for years to come! The boys (and cousin Eric) had fun jockeying for who was "in possession."  :-)

Too soon, it was dark outside and time for everyone to head home. Jackson made sure to hand out some hugs and kisses to Great Grandma...

...and D-YaYa...

And he and Eric had a few last-minute words. Not sure what it was about, but it looked intense. :-)

We were sad to say goodbye and close out Christmas Day, but we had to get home and finish packing for our big trip to Ottawa. Canada, here we come!!!
